WHO ARE WE?
Royal 559 Water Polo Academy is competitive club that focuses on individual skills as well as team tactics. Athletes ages 8-18 will holistically develop in the sport and be exposed to the culture of water polo through programs that teach discipline, accountability, teamwork and sportsmanship. OUR MISSION
Our mission is to develop young men and women of character and offer, through sport, the opportunity for each athlete to develop skills and habitats to succeed in both water polo and in life. |

Our staff is comprised of professional coaches with vast and diverse levels of experience at all levels of the game: High School, Club, Collegiate, and National Team. Our coaches pride themselves in being great role models, mentors and students of the game, and are committed to the mission of the Royal 559 Water Polo Academy. HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT
- Philosophy. Athletes, coaches, and parents form the foundation of the Royal 559 Academy. All three are critical to its success. Whereas most water polo clubs focus only on athletes, the Royal 559 Academy emphases excellence and accountability among coaches and parents achieved through mentorship and education. We believe that this is essential in our goal of creating life-long players and fans of the game.
- The 'Academy' Approach. We understand that some water topics required educational opportunities that extend beyond the realm of regular team practices or games. We provide seminars, clinics, and camps to enhance the academy experience of our players. Seminars and clinics are provided at no extra cost to registered members of the Royal 559 Academy. Camps typically require an additional fee to defray the expenses of bringing in college coaches.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
We value the process of development and achievement, as these things are designed to carry over into personal development outside water polo. This beautiful sport offers an exciting and worthwhile experience in a young person's life. Not every child can become a world class water polo player; however, our athletes will no doubt gain from their experiences and become better people. Water polo is a preparation for life.
The hardest worker in the pool does not always win, just as the most studious person does not necessarily receive the highest grade or the hardest worker at a job earn the most money. All athletes will learn, however, that to reach their potential, they must apply themselves, work diligently and consistently approach things with a growth-mindset. This lesson will be of immeasurable worth, not only in each athlete's career, but in achieving goals throughout their life.
Water polo is a vehicle we use to prepare our athletes for life. The development of water polo players as competitors comes from the growth and maturation of an individual through discipline, hard work, trial and error, success and failure. It is important to realize that while water polo can be a small world, it must be only a part of an individual's life.
We are beyond proud of the continued opportunities of growth and exposure Royal 559 Water Polo Academy provides the young men and women water polo players of our community and look forward to the many years of success that lay ahead.
